Want to Volunteer at Aki con?
Fill out the application below and submit keep in mind that Aki con has two different ranks of
volunteers.
• Volunteers can sign up as Guardian volunteer or volunteer. Volunteers 16 to 17 years old can sign up as
a Minor volunteer.
Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers will need a valid photo ID to show at the convention
when you check in.
• You may sign up to volunteer online using the volunteer sign-up form or at the convention at Volunteer
HQ.
• You will receive a confirmation from the volunteer director that you are set for volunteering.
• Volunteer shifts at the convention are now 2 hour blocks.
• When you arrive at the convention, please report to the Volunteer HQ and sign the volunteer waiver form.
Minors will need their guardian present.
• Volunteers will be assigned duties on a first come, first serve basics.
What Do Volunteers Do?
There might be some confusion as to what volunteers do. Listed below are examples of what you can get
involved with:
• Assisting registration
• Badge checking
• Being an extra set of hands for tech
• Helping staff in game shows and panels
• Acting as runner/gopher for supplies and water
Guardian Volunteer:
• To qualify as an guardian Volunteer, you need to be 18+ years old.
• Need to be registered as an attendee. Refunds will be mailed to the address provided by you. Please
verify your address when you check in at Volunteer HQ to ensure timely delivery.
• Must be in attendance at Aki con from set-up , Friday at 4:30am, to through break down, Sunday at
midnight
• Meals will be provided, starting Friday morning through Sunday morning.
• It is mandatory to attend two of the orientations.
Volunteer:
• To qualify as a Volunteer, you need to be 18+ years old.
• Do not need to be registered as an attendee in advance.
• Must complete 4 hours of volunteering for the convention per day or a combined 12 hours for all three
days.
• Those accepted as volunteers will get front, second or third row seats to events unless needed in their
assigned area.
• Volunteers do not qualify for refunds or meals.
Minor Volunteers
Minor Volunteers they are basically just like regular volunteers with the exception of age and a few extra rules
(listed below).
• To qualify as a Minor Volunteer, you must be 16 to 17 years old.
• When you first check in at Volunteer HQ, please bring your parent or guardian. They will need to sign a
volunteer waiver in front of Aki Con staff.
• Minor Volunteers are allowed a maximum of 8 hours of service per day.
• If you are volunteering at Aki con for community service credit, please bring the appropriate forms with
you.
